Paws for celebration on Team Edward
Ruffwear Marketing Manager Jade paid a visit to East Midlands Labrador Rescue Centre in September to make a donation of Ruffwear goodies and check out the good work they have been doing.
Harry Cook founded the organisation in 1981 and received an MBE from her majesty in 2003 for his services to helping animals. Last year alone, they re-homed 128 Labradors and are aiming to beat that record by the end of 2015!
The charity which relies solely on donations is humbled to have the efforts of Wendy Hopewell by their side, who every year embarks on a massive challenge to fundraise for kennel costs and vets bills. This year, with the company of two others, ‘Team Edward’ named after Wendy’s chocolate Lab, completed her most epic challenge yet.
The Ultimate Challenge involved climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, Snowdon and cycling the 450 miles between the peaks all under 6 days. The challenge raised £17,478 and the fundraising efforts continued- this time with the dogs doing the hard work!
