Last month, I put out a call for volunteers to read my manuscript and respond to some questions. I'm happy to report I got the perfect mix of readers. I couldn't be more thrilled.

My upcoming book is about a woman who battles two demons—ambition and chronic illness—until she finds a way to embrace both because she cannot escape either.

The eleven volunteers know me well enough to keep me honest and authentic. Each is a strong leader who has surely encountered obstacles bigger than mine. And, each is a trusted friend. I eagerly await all their suggestions for improving my book.

With their generous help, I'm hoping to mold it into something worth putting out there for others to read.

I had the privilege of speaking at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute's monthly luncheon on Nov 17.

Here's the gist of what I discussed:
Our generation is defining what it means to live thirty-plus years as senior citizens. Let's shine a light on how we're worthy of respect and admiration.. . instead of letting the pharmaceutical industry, cosmetic companies, and movie business tell the world that we're sick, sagging, and slow.
