A Message From Senior Partner and Owner Tom Marks...
With Fall at our doorstep and football season in full swing, it feels wonderful to embrace a new season. Don’t you love new seasons?
I enjoy the freshness that comes with feeling like you’re working with a clean slate. I love knowing that with new seasons of life, you can start over.
I know this because the Bible promises us that: “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV
Every day I’m privileged to work with individuals and families who are facing a “new season,” and while they are often challenging I am always encouraged to see people successfully start again. Often, I see those going through difficult situations come out stronger at the other end.
September 16, 2015, is National Step-family Day, and I wanted to take a moment to recognize the fact that one in three Americans lives in a step-family. More than 50% of Americans will live in a step-family at some point in their lives.
As I think about the challenges that come with the newness of step-family dynamics and step-parenting, I encourage us to celebrate the joy of new families, but also to remind us that it is with patience and persistence that every family perseveres.
