The New Year and New Beginnings

A Message From Senior Partner and Owner Tom Marks...
We are well into the New Year and I’m hoping 2015 will be a great year for each of you. Did you make any New Year's Resolutions? How are you doing with them?

This is also a time of year when many people and families are hoping to find new beginnings and wanting to make improvements in their lives.

Whether it means directing clients to resources that can rehabilitate their relationships or helping them navigate the complexity of family law, we deeply respect the privilege to walk alongside them in their current circumstances. To help them reach their goals and objectives, and in many ways to begin again.

This month’s newsletter contains two articles that may be of value to anyone you know facing a family law issue. Please share them if you think they could be of value to someone you know.

We have much to be thankful for and to be optimistic about, and I think it’s safe to say, we are all grateful for new beginnings. Here’s to a happy and prosperous 2015!

Is it Expensive to Consult with a Family Lawyer?

No is the answer. In fact, it may be very expensive not to consult a lawyer. And I’m not saying that just because I am one.

Take, for example, a recent case in the state of Kansas. There, a lesbian couple wanted to have a child, and they wanted it to be their own (i.e. sharing their own genes, or at least one set).  Click here to read the rest.

What Kind of Family Lawyer Are You Looking For?

Some people want an experienced, more expensive Family Law Attorney and some people want a newer, less expensive Family Law Attorney.

Some people want their attorney to be a “bulldog” and some people want someone who cares about them and their future.

Is it possible to get all of these in one Family Law firm? Let’s explore this question.  Click here to read the rest.
