Bring Laughter Into Your Life.
A Message From Senior Partner and Owner Tom Marks...
April is Holy Humor month. Life is full of unfortunate circumstances, but we can’t let our negative experiences dictate our outlook. As a family lawyer, I know that a positive mindset is imperative when I am expecting victorious results.
While going through the pain of a divorce, it can be difficult to choose happiness and rejoice about the little things life has to offer. However, often times when we endure hardships, we are able to look back on them and reflect on just how far we’ve come. When serving my clients during such a serious and difficult time, I try to remind them to focus on what makes them happy, what keeps them smiling, and what brings them laughter. Also know that you have done what you can and let go of what you can’t control.
God promises us more than our struggles. Job says “He will once again fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of joy.” In most cases, deciding to end a marriage isn’t a celebrated or humorous occasion. It comes with numerous emotions, grief, stress and fear to name a few. We have to remind ourselves that these feelings are temporary. Another scripture says, “Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh.” This may sound strange to hear while going through a divorce, but it can give you perspective and hope.
Make your well-being a priority. Engage in activities that you enjoy as often as possible and learn to take care of yourself.
Your life doesn’t end with divorce. You can move forward and find joy and laughter again. God has plans for your prosperity. Our team at the Marks Law Firm is committed to supporting you through this transition. I encourage you to make an effort to be optimistic about the opportunities that are waiting for you.
