Words of Wisdom

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

A Message From Senior Partner and Owner Tom Marks...

As 2016 comes to a close, I encourage you to reflect on the moments that have shaped the past year of your life. If the recent months have led you to a point of transition, remember that God has every moment of your life planned out. Seek comfort in His promises.

Looking back on the past year myself, I am filled with gratitude. The Marks Law Firm celebrated 24 years of practicing family law. Our team has grown, both in size and in cohesiveness. By trusting God and His timing we have been able to serve our clients when they need us the most.

We still have so much left to enjoy this month. After all, it’s the most wonderful time of the year. While in the spirit of giving, let us not forget to give back to our communities. Hebrews 13:16 says “And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.”  When we give to others, we are also giving to God. Perhaps you are not in a position to make a monetary donation. Consider offering your time instead. There are many organizations that are in need of volunteers this time of year.

For those of you who become overwhelmed by the demands of the Christmas season, it is important to remember who we are celebrating. Jesus sacrificed His life for us, out of unconditional love. When you find yourself stressing over a shopping list or packed schedule, take a step back. Be kind to yourself so that you may be kind to others as well. Have patience and make an effort to be present.

Whether you are hesitant to welcome 2017 or eager to embark on new beginnings, I urge you to keep an open mind. Stay reliant on your faith and remain hopeful for what God has in store for your future.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from The Marks Law Firm Team!

Finding Financial Peace During the Holidays

As a “mom-on-a-budget,” I’ve adopted several practices to help my family stay on track during the holiday season. By putting these few simple practices into action, my kids have learned that Christmas is about more than just receiving presents and I’ve found I can avoid breaking the bank and still make each Christmas morning absolutely amazing!
