Words of Wisdom

No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God remains in us, and His love is perfected in us.

A Message From Senior Partner and Owner Tom Marks...

The past month has been filled with anguish and confusion. Most don’t anticipate such tragedies to happen so close to home. Even through our heartache, God is listening. He knows we are hurting. Matthew says “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” One of the best things about being people of faith, is we don’t have to suffer alone. God wants us to lean on him; he wants us to let him into the deepest parts of our soul. Every day with our family and friends should be cherished. If you are going through a difficult transition, in your marriage or otherwise, I encourage you to avoid feeding into your anger. Be careful with your actions and consider the consequences of your words.  Divorce affects the whole family. I ask my clients to contemplate every option before choosing to end their marriage.

Another scripture says “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”  In a time where we are struggling to make sense of the hate and the terror in this world, we must remember just how far our country has come. Some of our neighbors across the globe don’t have the same opportunities and freedoms that we do. Just as our country has evolved, we have the chance to continue growing ourselves. Don’t hold yourself back from living your best life.

I hope you were able to spend the holiday with your loved ones and enjoy quality time with one another.

Happy Independence Day on behalf of The Marks Law Firm Team.

What Kind of Family Law Attorney Are You Looking For?

Some people want an experienced, more expensive Family Law Attorney and some people want a newer, less expensive Family Law Attorney.

Some people want their attorney to be a “bulldog” and some people want someone who cares about them and their future.

Is it possible to get all of these in one Family Law firm? Let’s explore this question.  Click here to read the rest.

Is it Expensive to Consult with a Family Lawyer?

No is the answer. In fact, it may be very expensive not to consult a lawyer. And I’m not saying that just because I am one.

Take, for example, a recent case in the state of Kansas. There, a lesbian couple wanted to have a child, and they wanted it to be their own (i.e. sharing their own genes, or at least one set).  Click here to read the rest.
