Greetings Freaks and Freakettes!

Arthur Flame here with news and information on our favorite festival. We're on track to have one of the greatest and fun filled festivals in Colorado. Make sure you scroll all the way down for upcoming event dates and some new ignition member intros.

First off, Apogaea has some great events coming to it, including at least one wedding. And of course,

CATS is working hard to ensure we have the best art at any regional in the world. We've got art money, let us help you in making and bringing some of the most awesome art visions Colorado has ever seen. The SEED MONEY GRANT ROUND is opening soon, so make sure you apply for this and of course, get the community involved in your projects and wow us all in a few short months.

Gate will be selling Gate gear for a fundraiser. Their gear is some of the coolest gear to sport, and the announcement for that is upcoming as well.

Our event  is not possible without volunteers. We are always on the lookout for new members who want to get involved.  Find your passion and what appeals to you to volunteer for, and reach out to the Board or leads of those departments to help us help you!

In fact, this is one great easy way to participate with the event: Remember that Apogaea is a Burning Man sanctioned event and as such, we strongly encourage participation by everyone who attends. Not everyone has the skills to DJ or spin fire, or the time and tools to be an artist. Volunteering is a sweet and easy way to become a participant and meet your fellow Apogaeans.

The Rangers will be recruiting and hosting pre-event training, Look for posts and dates of these and sign up and train early, so you can take shifts when the roster is opened. Another important department, BAMF, will also be looking hard for talented and skilled volunteers to keep us all safe while we're busy having fun. Help them have a boring time and work hard to put a smile on their faces. Without them our event would be much harder to throw. And all the other departments are just as important, and will be working to fill their smiling happy ranks with volunteers. Getting involved is both fun and rewarding, and is oh so easy.

The board is also considering whether to move some board meetings to weeknights, Please send us some feedback, and look for future communications of where and when we will have meetings. Have a good location you want us to try? Let us know!

Apogaea artists, the 2018 SEED MONEY GRANT ROUND  opens February 12th and closes at midnight on March 12th. The SEED MONEY GRANT ROUND is for projects that need up to $599. We can’t wait to see your ideas! Come ot the website for more information.

Please welcome John "Astro" Atwater our Center Camp lead this year at Apo.

From John:
I just started last Sunday, so I would like to connect with anyone who has ideas, experience or would like to be a part of Center Camp in any way! I have done astrology workshops at Center Camp in Bailey, Black Rock and Decomp. I was a daily Center Camp lead 2 years ago. I have been involved mostly as a ranger, parking and info booth. I have been to all the Apo's in Bailey and Trinidad and the last two Black Rock burns. This is a step up for me at being in charge and not just a volunteer, so I welcome advice, information, ideas and experiences that would help. I would like everyone to lookout for folks who would like to share ideas, skills, knowledge, and talents in our tent at Center Camp this year! My email is johnatwater@apogaea.com
Apogaea has a new Board member. Please welcome to our humble Board "Crispy" Dave Loudermilk. Dave will be bringing his expertise and helping us by being the Board Liaison for BAMF, Fire Conclave, and Acculturation, among many other roles. Welcome Dave!

"I am a 12 plus year Burner who has a passion for Volunteerism and Medical/Safety. I hope to help Apogaea grow and flourish. If you want to chat feel free to email me, I have an open door and listen to all.
-Crispy Dave"
