Be on the alert for holiday scams

We received an email from a YWCA friend who told us that they had received a scam message through Facebook. Please beware of any messages that look like they come from one of your friends, saying they won money at a YWCA auction and you have too.

We don't know what the scammers have in mind, but we advise you to steer clear of clicking on messages like this or downloading anything they suggest. Feel free to call us, 509-525-2570. if you have any questions. Our office line is answered from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Unfortunately, social media scams are another reality of pandemic life. Check the FTC website to learn more about these schemes and how to steer clear.

However you and your family celebrate the holidays, we wish you warm and wonderful times together and the opportunity to experience peace, justice, freedom and dignity.
