You Can Make a Difference in the Lives of Those With Asthma and Allergies

As May comes to a close, so does National Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month.

Rashad Jennings, former New York Giants running back and Dancing With the Stars winner was diagnosed with asthma at 9 years old. He still chased his dream of playing in the NFL. Rashad wants children with allergies to learn safe ways to exercise and to know that their dreams can come true – even with asthma!

We can help those with asthma, this month and every month, but only with your support. We can educate children with asthma about healthy ways to exercise and give them the tools to chase their dreams, but only with your support. On behalf of those we help, thank you. Your support makes a real difference, and we can’t do our important work without your help.

If you haven’t had a chance to support AAFA’s efforts to educate, support and advocate for those with asthma and allergies yet, visit our site to learn how you can donate.

Bryan Farthing Climbs Mt. Denali for AAFA Alaska

On May 13, 2017, Bryan Farthing started his climb up Mt. Denali, the highest mountain in North America, to raise funds and awareness for AAFA’s Alaska chapter. AAFA Alaska hosts an annual camp for children with asthma: Peninsula Puffers. Sixty-five percent of campers attend on a full scholarship and the remaining camper fees are greatly subsidized.

On average, it takes 17 to 21 days to climb Mt. Denali. Bryan is still on his expedition and you can follow his adventure. We wish Bryan luck as he climbs. We are grateful he chose to help AAFA Alaska through this incredible effort!
