We have an awareness ribbon to share on social media, an asthma- and allergy-friendly gift guide, safe recipes for those with food allergies and more to make the holiday fun and inclusive. Raise awareness while you share your love on Valentine’s Day.

AFFORD (Asthma in Families Facing Out-of-pocket Requirements with Deductibles) is a project of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute and the Department of Population Medicine at Harvard Medical School.

Manufacturers of epinephrine auto-injectors have renewed their U.S. savings programs for 2018. Epinephrine is the only treatment for anaphylaxis, a life-threatening allergic reaction. It’s important to keep your prescriptions up to date. See a list of programs offered for various auto-injectors.

Athletes for AAFA

Two Athletes #TackleAsthma to Raise Awareness

Asthma doesn’t have to keep you from being active.Two athletes with asthma share their stories about how they were able to #TackleAsthma and win. Reilly Price, a high school student, raised asthma awareness by hosting a 5K. Megan Roberts, AAFA’s Community Engagement Program Manager, recently competed in the 13th International Dragon Boat Federation’s Nations World Championships in China.

Did you know many Olympic athletes have asthma? The rate of asthma among athletes tends to be higher during the Winter Olympics than during the Summer Games. Thanks to a proper treatment plan and medicines, these athletes overcome asthma to perform amazing feats. As you watch the upcoming 2018 Winter Olympics, remember that many Olympians #TackleAsthma, proving it doesn’t have to hold you back!
