We Are Thankful for You

“We must find time to stop and thank the people who make a difference in our lives.” – John F. Kennedy

Our mission to save lives and reduce the burden of disease for people with asthma and allergies requires a strong network of support. We thank you for being our ally. Together, we make a difference in the lives of people affected by asthma and allergies every day through education, advocacy, research, and support. Without you, none of this would be possible. We thank you – our community members, donors, volunteers, and community partners – for believing in our mission.

First Laundry Detergent Earns AAFA's asthma & allergy friendly® Certification

Renegade’s SWEAT-X Free and Clear is the first laundry detergent to earn asthma & allergy friendly® Certification. When used to wash bedding and clothing, CERTIFIED asthma & allergy friendly® laundry detergent can help people reduce asthma and allergy triggers, which contributes to a healthier home environment.

The laundry detergent went through independent lab tests that simulated real-world conditions to see if it meets strict standards approved by AAFA. Allergens were added to the fabric and then washed with the detergent. The tests confirmed SWEAT-X Free and Clear detergent reduced allergen levels by 95% or greater. Congratulations to SWEAT-X Free and Clear detergent on earning asthma & allergy friendly® Certification!

ICYMI: New Asthma and Allergy Research From ACAAI

The 2021 American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (ACAAI) Annual Scientific Meeting was held in early November. This year’s theme, “Promoting Innovation and Diversity,” covered many topics. Here is some of the important research announced during ACAAI:

Managing Nasal Polyps (Watch On Demand)

Are you impacted by nasal polyps? AAFA joined with PlatformQ Health and MedLive for another educational program. During our recorded webinar, “Taking Charge to Breathe Easier: Strategies to Address Nasal Polyps,” you will learn how to take a more proactive approach to manage your nasal polyps and work with your doctor to improve treatment.
Do you treat someone with nasal polyps? The CME on-demand program, “Moving Toward a Targeted Approach for Nasal Polyps,” is hosted by AAFA, PlatformQ Health, and ImmunologyLive. It covers the patient burden of nasal polyps, limitations of traditional nasal polyp treatments, rationale for targeted approaches for nasal polyp management, and more. Watch the session for health care professionals on demand.

Asthma and allergies can be daunting. But they can be managed with the right treatment, resources, and support. AAFA is here to help people with asthma and allergies and their caregivers understand and manage their conditions and move to a place of confidence. We provide a vital lifeline through support, advocacy, education, and research.
You are why we can fulfill our mission to save lives and reduce the burden of asthma and allergies. We need your help to be able to continue our work. Please consider supporting AAFA and making a difference in the lives of people managing asthma and allergies.
