Early Introduction of Peanuts May Prevent Peanut Allergy

Interim guidelines tell doctors what advice to give parents about when to feed infants peanut products.

Doctors received news this week about what advice to give families on when to start feeding certain babies peanuts. Final guidelines will come later. The interim advice is early introduction to peanuts may prevent peanut allergy in babies at high-risk. (Medical supervision is recommended.) This information does not apply to babies not at risk, or children who are already allergic. Read our blog to learn more.

KFA Celebrates 10 Years, Reveals Special Mosaic Dedicated to Children

Kids With Food Allergies (KFA) celebrated its 10th anniversary recently, unveiling a specially commissioned glass tile mosaic to honor children with food allergies and their families. The Pepco Edison Place Gallery will display the artwork through the summer. “Food Allergies Rock!” musician Kyle Dine entertained families from around the Washington, D.C. area during the May 30 event.
