Wearable Art Show

Submit your work to sell during the holiday season! Join us as the Chicago Avenue Fire Arts Center (CAFAC) is transformed for the holidays! CAFAC's Wearable Art Show is designed to give patrons the opportunity to purchase original, handmade works of fire art as holiday gifts or to add to their personal art collection.

  • Deadline for submissions: Friday, November 20, 2015
  • Jury review: Monday, November 23
  • Artists notified of results: Tuesday, November 24
  • Artwork drop-off: On or before Saturday, December 12*
  • Members preview event: Members-only shopping preview event December 12
  • Public event: Quarterly Open Hot House on December 16 from 6:30-9pm
  • Pick-up of unsold work: On or before March 12, 2016*
*Artwork drop-off and pick-up are by appointment only.

CAFAC represents emerging and established artists with an emphasis on Minnesota. We continually seek out new art that is original, creative, and unique.
  • All entries must include an element of fire art (artwork produced by heat, spark, or flame), must be able to be worn in some way, and must be available for purchase.
  • All artwork must be professionally presented, and be ready for installation and sale upon arrival at CAFAC.
  • Only well-crafted, original artwork will be accepted. CAFAC does not accept reproductions or manufactured work.
  • Any work that does not meet show criteria may be excluded from the Wearable Art exhibition.
  • Artist submissions will be reviewed in the order in which they are received. If you have not heard from a CAFAC representative after two days, please contact us to be sure the submission was received.
  • Commission split on work sold is 75% artist / 25% CAFAC.
Email Jhyle Rinker, CAFAC Gallery Coordinator, at with the following information:
  • Name, address, phone number, and email address.
  • A brief biography/resume stating who you are, what you make, and a description of your process.
  • Attach 3-5 photos that best represent your current artwork. The photos must be in .gif or .jpg format. Please include the title, size, medium, and sale price for each piece of work that you are submitting for review.
The Chicago Avenue Fire Arts Center (CAFAC) is a volunteer-run, 501(c)3 nonprofit arts organization whose mission is to inspire hands, hearts and minds through art forms produced by heat, spark and flame. CAFAC is the only education and artist support facility in the Upper Midwest completely devoted to fine and industrial “fire art” forms such as sculptural welding, blacksmithing, metal casting, jewelry making, and glass working, to name a few.
