We stepped on in our journey through Luke, Luking at Jesus. Dave was looking at the temptation/testing of Jesus in Luke 4:1-15. You can listen to the sermon here, download the handout here or for a brief recap, watch the SRMN below.

You can find our sermon archive here or our SRMN archive here.
SRMNs are brief video recaps of our teaching from Sunday
Dave looked at how we can overcome temptation because Jesus, the Son of Man has overcome it...noting how Jesus was full of the Spirit and full of Scripture. But more importantly we saw the hope that we have when we are overcome by temptation because Jesus has overcome every temptation for us. Here are a few resources to help you explore the teaching from Sunday

CONSIDER: We noted Jesus was full of Scripture so take some time to consider how well you know these Scriptures. Explore this blog post from Justin Taylor about planning to read through the Bible in one year...or two. There's a tonne of great resources here so bookmark it as something to come back to. The videos at the bottom are brilliant to give you the big picture of the the Bible and different books before you start to read

READ: Here's an article that'll make you think about memorising Scripture...even memorising longer passages and books. There are also a couple of great apps for this...Verses if you're an Apple user or Fighter Verses if you're not.

PRINT: The glorious truth to the passage we looked at on Sunday is that Jesus, the Son of God and Son of Man overcame every temptation to save us because we are overcome by temptation. Dave highlighted two questions form the Heidelberg catechism which explained the importance of this. Print them off and read through them this week.

We're meeting to pray every Wednesday from 7:30-8:30pm and we'd love you to join us. If you've never done it before come along and learn. If you're an old hand come along and encourage your church family.
