Let's pray together
to end abortion

NOTE: We are highlighting a number of upcoming opportunities to pray, online and in person, for the reversal of Roe v. Wade as the U.S. Supreme Court on Dec. 1 considers the Mississippi case of Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health. Those opportunities are in red headlines below.

Adoration to End Abortion on Dec. 1: People in parishes across the nation are called to pray in adoration on Dec. 1. Catholic Vote is encouraging Catholics to contact their bishops and pastors to request that they "make Eucharistic adoration widely available, because this
will be a historic moment for our country, and we need God’s help.” Go to catholicvote.org/dobbs to sign up to participate on Wednesday, Dec. 1. On a map at that link, you can see that people at ten or more parishes in Northern Colorado, and nearly 1,000 parishes nationwide, have already signed up to participate. Archbishop Samuel J. Aquila has notified all of our pastors in the Archdiocese of Denver of this effort.

40 Days for Life Vigil from Nov. 30 to Dec. 1: "Join thousands of Americans from coast to coast for a special emergency prayer campaign November 30 – December 1," requests 40 Days for Life in this Facebook post. "Pray for God to guide the Supreme Court justices in overturning Roe v. Wade. Save babies from abortion…as the High Court deliberates." Go to 40daysforlife.com/en/roe-must-go.aspx for details, which includes a locator map.

Pro-Life Rally for Dobbs Supreme Court Case on Nov. 29: "Join the Centennial Institute at Colorado Christian University for a rally in support of the Right to Life prevailing in America’s highest court. Could 2022 be the year Roe v. Wade is reversed?" See details and RSVP at this link for the event 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29.

National Ecumenical Pro-Life Online Prayer Event Nov. 18: "Join Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant Christians across the country coming together online to pray for the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case." Registration for the Zoom event, 6 p.m. (MT) on Thursday, Nov. 18, is at this link.

Adopt-A-Family to Share Joy this Season: The holidays are just around the corner and some of our neighbors need a little help to provide a festive holiday for their family. The Catholic Charities' Adopt–A–Family website is now open, and you can select the individual or family you’d like to adopt this Christmas. Begin shopping immediately or donate money to have us do the shopping for you. If you have any questions or need more information, please contact us at 720–799–9316 or aaf@ccdenver.org.

40 Days for Life 365: We are officially registered to host the Denver 40 Days for Life 365 as a new location. The aim is to have a prayer presence outside the Planned Parenthood abortion clinic, at 7155 E. 38th Ave., in Denver 365 days of the year. To sign up for the year-round effort you can reach out to our volunteer Brad Maddock at info@saversofsouls.org. Also, if you would like to create your account with 40 Days for Life Denver visit our page 40DaysforLife.com/Denver and sign up. During the fall campaign in Denver that ended Oct. 31, we learned of three babies that were saved. Overall we had 2,187 vigil participants. Internationally, 40 Days for Life reports a number of 779 lives saved during the fall campaign and more than 20,000 lives saved since 2007.

The theme is: Honoring Courageous Mothers. See details on our website and download OUR NEW FLYERS in English at this link, and in Spanish at this link. Please share everywhere that you can! Pull together a team at your parish if you have not already done so, and make plans ahead of time for your strong participation. Consider attending an early Mass where you are. Bring appropriate refreshments for travel if you bus in, etc. Design parish banners, swag, t-shirts, hats, flags, etc., to set yourselves apart from the crowd in an exciting way!

Prayer in the Square: Bring family and friends to pray in public on Saturday, Dec. 4, at various locations on the Front Range. See locations and times at PrayerintheSquare.com. We have two new locations in Denver: Holy Rosary and St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Parishes. Does your parish host public prayer as a powerful witness in your neighborhood? If not, it’s time to contact us to gain information on how to do this. Reach us at life@ccdenver.org

With the Thanksgiving holiday upon us, do take a moment to send an encouraging note to your local priest(s), deacons and religious sisters that serve nearby. They often carry heavy burdens and continue serving at times of great difficulty and stress. A kind word and a simple thank you can be like balm to the soul of a weary soldier; and often, for these faithful ones, they are all too rare. May we also say a hearty THANK YOU to all of you for your steadfast support of our efforts, and sincerely wish for you a joyous Thanksgiving celebration!
