Wow, thank you for the terrific response to last week's message. (If you missed it, you can read it here.) Thanks to your renewals and new subscriptions and gift subscriptions, UPPERCASE gained 110 subscribers this past week! That's terrific. I know that sort of pace isn't sustainable week after week, but it makes the goal of 6,000 subscribers by the end of 2017 seem actually possible.
Thank you as well for your constructive ideas on how to reach more potential subscribers. I'll see what I can implement and share some new ideas in future newsletters.
I heard from a few folks who don't like getting messages where there's a call to subscribe—since they already have a subscription. I can appreciate that, but right now I just don't have the time to manage separate lists and/or send out different sets of content to different groups. So I cast a wide net with this newsletter—which goes out to more than 4 times as many names as I have subscribers. At some point, I would like to be able to send out more tailored messages. It's on my wish list.
The new issue was printed last week and next on its schedule is folding the interior and getting it bound. (If you want to flip through a low res digital preview, it is posted here.) In the meantime, though, the data and mailing aspect of the magazine is underway. The data must be prepared and vetted so that by the time the magazine is ready to be mailed, the mailing list is ready to go.
That means that my export of the mailing data for issue 33 will be finished up tomorrow, March 15. So if you don't have an active subscription and love UPPERCASE and appreciate its unique and creative topics, please subscribe, renew or purchase a gift subscription.
Thank you so much,
