Safe Sociable London Partnership

New London role to support early intervention

Many of those working around substance misuse in London over the years will have come across David MacKintosh, perhaps through his work for the London Drug and Alcohol Policy Forum or more recently the Greater London Authority.  Since April of this year he has been working for the Safe Sociable London Partnership (while retaining a role with the GLA) focussing on prevention and early intervention.  A central part of this work is about improving the support and delivery of IBA for those working at borough levels and in a variety of settings.

In terms of promoting and supporting IBA you will also wish to be aware that what was formerly known as the Strategic Leadership Group (SLG) has been rebadged as the London Alcohol Misuse Prevention (LAMP) Advisory Group.  The LAMP will provide expertise and support in delivering high quality IBA and reducing alcohol related health harms.  It will shortly have its own web presence within the SSLP website and will be promoting what it offers to those working in London.
