All School Budgets Pass But Tuckahoe; Sag Harbor to Buy Stella Maris

All of the East End’s school budgets passed Tuesday, with the exception of the proposed budget for the Tuckahoe School, which failed in a 146-145 vote. The Tuckahoe School can now either chose to operate on a contingency budget next year or put the budget up for another vote. If it fails a second time, the district must adopt a contingency budget.

The Department of Environmental Conservation and Riverhead Town are partnering to harvest some of the over-abundant menhaden in the Peconic River, in an attempt to decrease the likelihood of a massive fish kill like the one that occurred at this time last year.
