Plan Afoot to Continue to Restore the LI Sound

 

A broad swath of bipartisan federal lawmakers are looking to extend the federal government’s support of the restoration of the Long Island Sound. In late June, a consortium of Connecticut and New York lawmakers introduced legislation that would extend the Long Island Sound Restoration and Stewardship Act from now until 2020. If passed, it would provide a large pool of federal money to clean up the Sound.  Read More....

NFEC Honors BNL's Mel Morris for his Commitment to Youth Engagement in the Environment

 

The North Fork Environmental Council presented its Richard Noncarrow Environmentalist of the Year Award on July 9 to Brookhaven National Laboratory educator Mel Morris, for his work in inspiring young people to care about the environment.Mr. Morris, a resident of Mattituck, serves as the Manager of Special Projects for the Office of Educational Programs at Brookhaven National Laboratory.  Read More....
