BabelCamp #1 is over

It was great fun doing it - hope you had the same feeling!

Dear visitors, speakers, colleagues!

We send this e-mail to all registered people, and we are happy that so many of you actually came!

We believe the trying was worth and we plan to organize BabelCamp next year again. In order to make it better, we would like to ask you to help us and fill out the survey. We would be really thankful for all the feedback you can provide – especially about the negatives, so we can get rid of them next year. Here is the survey:

Important information: once we got confirmation from the speakers, all the presentations will be published on the site and later on also the video recordings (if allowed by speakers). We will also add links to photos, blog posts or any media coverage :)

And now a huge list of “thank you messages” and links – but I'm sure these are actually interesting ones.

The BabelCamp name refers to – my website about social media in CEE. There is the same idea behind BabelCamp and BabelGuide: to connect social media professionals across the region. If you want to write for BabelGuide, you're warmly welcome. You don't have to worry about your English: we will take care of the translation and/or proof reading.

The brand and the design of the site came to life thanks to Adam Hrubý. For the survey and the original idea of creating a barcamp I want to thank my wife Laďka Zbiejczuk Suchá. The site was coded by Honza Pospíšil. The Twitter wall was provided by Apploud. Wi-fi worked thanks to It all took place at Fléda, the best club in Brno.

Many of you were surprised by great catering provided by Rozinky a Mandle (check their brand new FB page Cimes Deli) – and HotKarot too. Those little wedding cakes were baked by Druhý dech. The electro swing DJ is Max W. Cool 3D printer was brought by Josef Průša himself. Speakers' cards with NFC tags were created by Call spol.

Our sponsors include (they gave you the nasty envelope), (check his new website – we will give Karel the results of the test that got back to us and he will choose the winner), Neoluxor (we have books for people, who will gave us the most interesting / inspiring feedback), mBank (we look forward to New mBank launch in .cz and .sk), KISK (check their „Blok expertů“ - bringing interesting guests to Brno every Thu), (without them there would be no video recordings), Kingswood (your cider is yummy) and (thanks for supporting social media enthusiasts). will give a ticket to the person who has guessed which speaker is voted as the best one (in the aforementioned on-line survey).

And I want to thank my colleagues: Irena Šovčíková (2nd stage and speaker's connector), Bára Buchtová (3rd stage), Olga Biernátová (main stage), the moderators Lukáš Hrdlička and Nick Bolkvadze, camera team – Simona Beránková, Soňa PriborskáJana Plotková and our registration team: Monika Holoubková and Dávid Tvrdoň. Special thanks to Lenka Kučerová from StartupYard for great connections to Hungary and Austria!

The final words of praise must belong to the speakers. I was really happy to have such a bunch of great professionals willing to participate on BabelCamp. Thank you and see you next year!

Adam Zbiejczuk & the whole BabelCamp team

PS: If you want to meet earlier, we recommend: WebExpoSocial Marketers Summit (this year in October) and Marketing Festival! Three great events mainly in English in Czech Republic!
