Rebuilding homes, schools and livelihoods

Krishna "Daddy" reports on his latest activities:

"I am working with Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal to bring tourism back to the country and restore the livelihoods of local communities.

We went to epicenter place, Gorkha, where life is still very miserable and people still suffer lots. Everything has gone and the place looks like it has been bombed. Every people has big pain in their heart and mind. No house, lost their animal, pets, family member, crops etc... and big rain.

There were seven home stays for tourists there but all gone. The families who try to run the home stay are very poor and now have nothing left.

I have given some of the money that you raised to rebuild the home stay and build some temporary houses. I will make another trip very soon and help to build some school and more house etc."

Repairs at Shangri-La Children's Home

The damaged water tanks on the roof and underground have been mended, and work is underway on the cracks in the home's walls, windows and doors.

In addition, the family have installed a waste water system to take care of the unhygienic overflow that originally travelled through that garden and down the street.

A new family member!

Bishnu Mummy and Krishna Daddy's new little boy, born last week!
