From the Managing Director
We are closely monitoring the situation unfolding around the federal government funding bill and a potential shutdown that could affect the operations of national parks, monuments and other federally managed areas throughout the state.
In the event of a government shutdown we will work with you, our tourism industry partners around the state, as well as federal, nonprofit and private entities to help ensure a positive traveler experience and to keep these areas protected, safe and accessible. We don’t yet know the impact on traveler access and itineraries.
Should a shutdown occur, we will support residents and visitors traveling throughout the state by communicating, reassuring and guiding them using our official channels of VisitUtah.com, @VisitUtah on social media and our online chat. With the potential for limited services and staff in our federally managed areas, our responsible visitation messaging is more important than ever.
To support our visitors, we are sharing regional itineraries. Each national park region in Utah offers an array of additional experiences and destinations.
Arches | Canyonlands | Capitol Reef | Bryce Canyon | Zion
As this situation develops, we’ll continue to communicate our internal strategy with you all through this industry newsletter.
