MPHS PAPs January 2016

Wishing all our students, faculty, supporters and their families a wonderful 2016.
This year's Fall drama, Almost, Maine by John Cariani was a huge success. The story, which tells the whimsical tales of nine different couples coping with love on one cold, wintry night, drew large crowds and rave reviews. The cast consisted of several veterans to the stage, including seniors Aidan MacLean and Melissa Thompson, as well as some fresh faces who appeared for the first time before a live audience, including juniors Alvin Kim and Ana Hernandez and freshmen Angela Tashik and Noelle Fusco. The students celebrated their success at a cast party at Nellie's Place following their final performance.

The Pasta Dinner was a great success, thank you to family and friends that attended, and that the full cast is now working hard at rehearsals for the musical.

MPHS PAPS is looking for volunteers to bake and sell baked goods at each of the musical performances, Friday, 3/18, Saturday. 3/19, and Sunday, 3/20. Please contact Trish Olsen to signup.

Flower Sale. MPHS will once again be selling flowers at performance for the convenience of families and friends who have performers. Keep on eye out for order forms.

PARENT MEETING. The Band Program is busy preparing for their tour of Nashville from April 7-11. There will be a parent meeting at 7 pm on February 3 for all those attending the trip. Check out forms and deadlines here.

Each year PAPs awards scholarships to a select number of seniors whose families are members of PAPS and who apply. If you are member in good standing and have a senior, you will be receiving a request for a scholarship application submission from PAPs in your home mailboxes. Membership in PAPs is open year-round, so there is still an opportunity to join. Please contact our Membership Chair Martina Timoney to get a membership application. Scholarships will be awarded at the senior awards dinner.

Welcome to Peter Triolo, who is serving as the Board of Education liaison to MPHS PAPs. As the BOE liaison, Mr. Triolo will serve as a vital communications link between boards. We look forward to working with you!
MPHS PAPs is a membership organization. That means all members are entitled to attend, participate, and VOTE at PAPs meetings. Members are also encouraged to serve on one of our standing committees. Contact a PAPS board member to learn more.
