After a weather delay, we at last get to kick off our Feature Writing project with Rebecca Mahoney's workshop TOMORROW (February 13) from 3-5 pm. With years of experience writing many types of features for major newspapers and magazines around the country, Rebecca can show us how to write creative, PUBLISHABLE pieces. She will teach us how to find the real Story behind the Store.
Featuring Soup!
After the workshop, our regular Writers' Night Out will begin with our organic, vegetarian, gluten-free soup at 5 pm. We will use this social time to discuss and brainstorm YOUR ideas for the feature article that you will write. Before the night is out, everyone will have a working plan for his story.
This is our first community project of the year. Not only will we learn to write these features, but we will provide guidance for you to submit them to five publications.
Don't miss this chance to learn a useful skill that will boost your publication resume and writing platform. Register online or email Alison if you want to participate. The cost is $20 for the workshop.
Thur Feb 15 3-5 pm Only $20
Writers Night Out 5 - 7 pm
Stay for soup and socialization following the workshop. We'll talk about our individual feature stories and how to prepare them for publication. Pretty exciting.
Let's do it! It'll be great to see everyone again.
FEBRUARY IS BLAZING!
Want to learn to write in a hurry? We're about to burn through THREE workshops in three weeks.
$45 per all-day workshop. Or, we're still extending the package price of $200 for five. Email Alison with any questions.
Turn up the heat under YOUR writing!

This Week's Items in Our Virtual Thrift Shop
#1 Endless entertainment for your furry friend--until they figure it out and are bored with it. Baxter has reached that point with this toy and wants to share it with another kitty. Only $2 for this item that originally retailed for about $20.
#2 Admittedly, these shoes won't help you lose weight. But, they will make you at least a couple of inches taller, and they're truly comfortable. Skechers, size 8. Excellent condition. Retailed for around $80, but for you, $5.
#3 Cute, comfy J.Jill sweater. Year-round weight. 73% cotton. Size 10. 3/4 sleeves. Looks a little like boiled wool but it isn't nearly as hot to wear! Washable. $5
#4 Get ready for summer by snapping up this NEW top from a local trendy shop. Made in the USA of pre-shrunk 100% cotton. Machine wash cold. Size Medium. Save $80 by buying it for $20.
