Sunday Roundelay
This Sunday 2-4 pm.
Welcome & a Writing Exercise
from Wendy
--“one job of a poet is not to fall silent”— William Matthews
Poets (and I-would-love-to-write-a-poem people),
We are often at a loss for a subject for our poems. When spring chill curls us up with a good book, let that book be poetry and just wait to see what happens. OR give this little exercise a try. Bring your draft with you to the next Poetry Rondeau (March 23) or bring one of your other poems, or a poem you love by someone else, or a book you'd like to share. Come join us for poetry and conversation. Don't fall silent.
EXERCISE From my friend Lola Haskin's book, Not Feathers Yet
Scan the titles of the books in your bookcase. Make a list of at least 10 titles that appeal to you. Put them in an order you find pleasing. See what kind of poem you can make from them.
Bring Your Writing,
Bring this Exercise,
or Just Bring Your Love of Poetry
Register ASAP because the Series is Limited to Eight participants.

If the newsletter seems a little bleak this week and not up to our usual artistic standards, it is because our editor was unavailable and our publisher had to do it. She hates this Chimp (Mail Chimp). He hates her. It has not been a pretty afternoon.
