The first quarter of the school year is behind us and we are forging ahead at full speed. We would like to thank those who attended the SCCPTA Fall Leadership Training. The event was well attended, important questions were answered, and useful networking was initiated. The next Leadership Training will take place in January 26, 2015; watch your inbox for the announcement.

With the fast-pace of modern times, Seminole County Council is taking advantage of many technological options to stay connected with all those advocating for Seminole County students and schools. You may view our website at sccpta.com, and Like us on Facebook. Additionally, check your SPAM email folder to make sure any newsletters or E-vites are not being missed; SCCPTA uses MailChimp, and Sign-Up Genius to announce events. Be sure to add these domains to your safe-list to ensure these messages reach your inbox. A social media class was recently taught at Fall Training. If you would like to view the presentation, it is available HERE.

Thank you for all you do to advocate for our students and schools.
SCCPTA Scholarship’s are primarily funded by donations from our LOCAL units! When setting up your budget this year, please consider making a donation to our Scholarship fund. Donating to the scholarship fund goes directly to the students of Seminole County to help them with the first year of college. Any amount will help fund these great students to achieve their goals. Last year we were able to help five deserving students and this year we would like to help more students achieve their goals. Please make a donation today. No amount is too small! We love to reward our Senior Students. See the Scholarship tab on our website for additional information.
Arts Alive 2014 is this weekend and the support from Seminole County PTA this year has been amazing!  21 local units made donations of cash or auction items to this year's fundraiser, plus SCCPTA will donate a gift basket as well. Arts Alive raises much needed funds for district-wide arts events such as the Marching Band Festival and All-County Chorus and Band, plus every school receives a check as well. So the music, art, and drama teachers at your school will benefit from your generosity--thank you all so much!

Every PTA/PTSA that donated will be acknowledged in the evening's program, and will also receive an award from SCCPTA at our annual awards banquet. The lucky winner of the extra ticket will be announced soon.

Thank you all so much for your support of this event and for keeping the arts strong in Seminole County Schools. You've shown that maintaining a strong arts education for our children is important to you!
