The State of Men's Health

The Department of Health, Lotterywest, Turf Care WA and NIB support Men’s Health and Wellbeing WA in its work to improve the health and wellbeing of all males in the West Australian community.

The State Election 2017 provides a significant opportunity to drive the agenda of men’s health and wellbeing and secure policy and funding commitments.

Projects Update

As the peak body for boys and men’s health and wellbeing in WA, our projects are focused on supporting the men’s health and wellbeing sector improve the wellbeing of men in the community, linking men to the broad range of services available to them, and drive social reform and development of the sector agenda.  

To achieve this, our current projects include exciting research collaboration with the University of Western Australia, updating and expanding our range of men’s health and wellbeing service directories, developing and delivering a short evidence-based professional development workshop for sector professionals, preparing for the 2016 WA Father of the Year Award, organising the male health symposium and more!

In The News

Building a strong evidence base on male health is a priority area identified in the National Male Health Policy to inform policies, programs and initiatives.
Did you know that in 2011, the Australian Department of Health announced a new research study to be conducted in male health?
The Australian Longitudinal Study on Male Health, also known as the Ten to Men Study, is a longitudinal population-based study which focuses on building a strong evidence base in male health. The Study will inform policies, programs and initiatives that promote health and support to males.
