The Darkest Dungeon Kickstarter campaign begins on Monday, Feb 10th at 9am PST!

Why are we Kickstarting Darkest Dungeon?

We have already invested substantially in Darkest Dungeon, both in terms of personal cash to cover expenses, and the fact that we are all currently working without salary to make the game. We believe in it!

Kickstarter will help us in four main ways:

Helps reduce the out of pocket money we need to spend to get the game made. These expenses include buying equipment, software, music, translation, animation, and more.
Helps us realize the game's full potential by (Stretch Goals!)
If it goes really well: we can pay ourselves during development and reduce our party's stress levels and afflictions! (YAY!)
Helps spread the word about the game and attract more fans.

What will the Prices, Tiers, and Rewards Be?

We have spent weeks and weeks crafting tiers that are fairly priced, fit any budget, and deliver awesome rewards. EVERY TIER has special rewards. If you wait until the game is released, you'll miss out on these rewards!

All previous rewards + Your Face Drawn in the Darkest Dungeon style + The Narrator reads a line of your choice and you get the recording!
NOBLE HEIR ($499)
All previous rewards + Work with us to write the Journal of your Expedition and Doom which will appear as collectible in-game items for people to read of your demise.
HEIR APPARENT ($999)
All previous rewards + select your favorite character class and Chris will draw a pose just for you and we will print 1 of a kind, sign it, and ship it to you.
BARON ($2,500)
All previous rewards + DESIGN A MONSTER! Work with us to design a monster class and you'll also receive a framed print of the art.
LORD ($5,000)
All previous rewards + DESIGN A CHARACTER CLASS! Work with us in-depth to design a playable class, and receive a framed print of the character art.

You don't need to spend a lot of money for Darkest Dungeon. We will be extremely excited and grateful no matter what tier you back us at!

Will there Be any Cool Add-Ons?

We're so glad you asked! Yes, we have several different awesome add-ons you can purchase:

Printed Art Book ($30)
Do you love the art style of DD? Feast your eyes on 48-pages of sketches, paintings, and other game art including characters, monsters, environments, and more. All printed in full-colour.
Art Print ($45)
A stunning 18"x24" design which will be revealed during the campaign.
Paper Diorama ($25)
Grab a pair of scissors and construct your own Desktop Darkest Dungeon Diorama! Full-colour printed on sturdy cardstock. Includes heroes, monsters, and a dungeon hallway.
Original Soundtrack by Stuart Chatwood ($10)
Eerie, driving tunes from the master of dungeon audio, composer Stuart Chatwood! (He also scored both of our trailers.)

Does One Person Backing Really Make a Difference?

YES! When you back the project, you literally help the game get made. Furthermore, you help make the game get made BETTER. And last but not least, your vote of confidence helps expose the game to other people and spread the word. And it makes our lives easier, which we like.

The Mighty 1100: Back us at the $29 Tier or Higher

The "Mighty 1100" is what we are calling those of you who have subscribed to our newsletter and supported us this far. There are actually more than 1100 of you now, but we want each of you to know how much we value your support.

Originally, we were going to require you to back at the $49 (ADVENTURER) level to get the Mighty 1100 exclusive rewards, but we've decided to lower that to the $29 Tier (SEEKER) instead!

AND, it gets better yet: we have a $25 Early Bird Tier with limited spots allocated. So if you act fast on Monday, you can get the $29 Tier for only $25! Early bird gets the worm!

Bottom line is: we appreciate your support this far, and we don't want it to be a burden for you to be able to get the Mighty 1100 special rewards.

How you Get the Mighty 1100 Rewards:

When Kickstarter begins, pledge at the $29 (SEEKER) level or higher.

What You Get (Mighty 1100 Rewards):

You get all of the normal SEEKER rewards of: Game, Early Access, a PDF Adventuring Manual, a PDF Estate Map, and a Credit in the game.
Your Credit gets upgraded from "Founder" to "Mighty 1100!"
CREST OF THE 1100: When the game releases, you will receive a special Steam Key that adds the Crest of the 1100 into your game. This is an equippable item, usable by a single character at a time, that has a very special power: it reduces Stress Damage to the character whenever the Torch level is low. In other words, when all hope is lost and things are dark, the strength of the Mighty 1100 may shine through!
MIGHTY 1100 AVATAR: Get an awesome special 250x250 pixel avatar only for the Mighty 1100 which you can use for profile pictures, in forums, and other places. Find your fellow Mighty 1100 on the web!

How will you know I'm part of the Mighty 1100?

After the campaign, we will match up those who have backed at SEEKER ($29) or higher with those on our mailing list. If your are on both, we'll add you to the Mighty 1100 list.

If your Kickstarter email address is different than your mailing list address, it will be a little harder. You'll need to email us after the campaign and give us your Kickstarter address so we can match up the records. It might take some time, but we'll get it sorted eventually!
