Get More Out of REDCap: Tips and Tricks

Are you using Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap)? REDCap is free, HIPAA-compliant, web-based software available to researchers and study team members at all Tufts CTSI partner institutions. To request an account, please complete our online form and be sure to select REDCap Database Account.

To get more out of REDCap, follow our helpful tips, including these:
  • Did you know that annotation tags correspond to action that is performed for the field when it is displayed on the forms or data entry fields and not visible anywhere on the page? @HIDDEN annotation, when added to the field annotation table, hides the field to survey participants, but can be seen on the data export. The field will stay hidden regardless of the branching logic rules.
  • Did you know you can turn a field label into a link? You can add link references to field labels using the following HTML tags: <a href='URL' target='_blank'>field_name</a>.
Need some one-on-one help with using REDCap? Come to a Drop-in Session, every Wednesday from 8:00-9:00AM.

Funding Opportunity: One Health Pilot Grants

Have you signed up for the One Health Workshop on Tuesday, October 4? Investigators who attend may be eligible for planning grants ($500) and pilot grants (up to $5,000) to assemble a team and develop One Health research projects. The criteria and process for applying for these funds will be provided at the Workshop. Sign up by September 30 to attend.
