Patient-Centered Research Seminar, October 25


Need to incorporate stakeholder engagement into your study, but not sure where to start? Learn how to make your research patient-centered, and find out how engagement fits into your research process at Preparing for Patient-Centered and Stakeholder-Engaged Research on Tuesday, October 25, 9:30-11:00AM in Sackler 114 (145 Harrison Avenue, Boston). A live webcast will also be available.

Thomas Concannon, PhD, Tufts CTSI’s Director of Stakeholder and Community Engagement and Assistant Director of Comparative Effectiveness Research, will share his expertise and explain several models for engaging with stakeholders.

Save the Date: Asian Health Symposium, December 6


Would you like an opportunity for community-building, networking, and learning about research to address Asian health disparities? Mark your calendar for the 3rd Annual Asian Health Symposium: From Collecting Data to Collective Impact, Tuesday, December 6, 8:30AM-1:30PM at Tufts University School of Medicine's Sackler School of Graduate Biomedical Sciences, 145 Harrison Avenue, Room 114, Boston.

This exciting event, free and open to all, is hosted by the Addressing Disparities in Asian Populations Through Translational Research (ADAPT) Program and will include: 
  • A panel discussion on the importance of collecting disaggregated and local data
  • An exploratory session on using the Collective Impact approach for creating a roadmap for Asian community health.
  • Group discussions about health priorities for Asian communities in Chinatown and across Greater Boston.
A light breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Get Core Laboratory Services on the Tufts Boston Campus


Looking for a lab to meet your clinical and analytical needs? Access a full array of services for human, animal, epidemiological, and field studies through a partnership between Tufts CTSI and the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts (HNRCA) Clinical and Analytical Core Laboratory (CACL).

Comprised of the Nutrition Evaluation Laboratory (NEL) and Mass Spectrometry Lab (MSL), the CACL provides scientific investigators a comprehensive biochemical test menu, specimen handling services and analytical study design assistance.

The CACL would love to talk about your study before you begin the collection phase. To get started, submit a service request (be sure to select Analytical Laboratory Services).

Funding Opportunity: Tufts Cancer Center

The Tufts Cancer Center announces a new funding opportunity. Supported by generous gifts from the Moore Estate and the Moreau Family, this research program is aimed to address the financial need of current Tufts Medical Center researchers with unfunded or under-funded ongoing cancer research projects. 

Tufts Medical Center employees, especially junior faculty members, are encouraged to apply. Proposals are accepted on a rolling basis, and awards are anticipated to be between $10,000-25,000. For more information, please contact Natalie Daigle
