Rare Disease Day 2017 at Massachusetts State House


The last day of February is designated as Rare Disease Day in Massachusetts to call attention to public health issues associated with rare diseases that affect nearly 30 million Americans and countless others around the world. The theme for Rare Disease Day 2017 is Patient Involvement in Research

Join MassBio, the MGH Center for Rare Neurologic Diseases, the MGH Frontotemporal Disorders Unit, member companies, patient groups, patients and legislators to recognize Rare Disease Day at the Massachusetts State House on Tuesday, February 28, 11:00AM-noon in the Great Hall. Speakers will include clinicians, patients, advocates, and legislators.

  • Effectiveness of Community-Based Diabetes Care Model (C-DCM) in addressing Health Disparities in Immigrant Populations; Mohan Thanikachalam, MD; Tufts University School of Medicine
  • HCV Testing and Treatment Pathways in Jails; Alysse Wurcel, MD, MS; Tufts Medical Center
