The MediaFutures Annual Report 2020 has just been published. The report is a public document and can be downloaded below. In this first report we give an overview of the centre’s vision and objectives, partners, work packages and planned and ongoing activities. Enjoy!

Three upcoming MediaFutures Seminars in May

MediaFutures is happy to invite you to join our three seminars in May. First up, on Tuesday 4 May we will hear about JECT.AI: Using digital technologies to augment work in the newsroom. Shortly thereafter, on Thursday 6 May, we invite you to a talk about User-centered Investigation of Popularity Bias in Recommender Systems. We round up on 20 May with a seminar titled Should we have PETs in “smart” homes?

Promotion to Full Professor: Congratulations Professor Marija Slavkovik!

Dr. Marija Slavkovik, WP2 Co-Leader, has been assessed as qualified for promotion from Associate Professor to Full Professor. We congratulate Marija on the achievement!

The good news about Marija’s promotion was made official by the Board of the Faculty of Social Sciences, UiB, in their meeting on 20 April 2021. The decision was made after an expert committee’s positive evaluation of her application.

MediaFutures extends our sincere congratulations to Marija on her appointment, and we wish her good luck!

Video recordings of previous seminars are available
