Enhancing Movie Recommendation with Visual Analysis

 
How to increase the chance of a movie that lacks sufficient information to appear in the right recommendation feed of the right user? The answer may lay in “stylistic” visual features that can be extracted automatically and utilized effectively to give personalized recommendations based on state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms!

Can video games change the world? 


Online games where participants must make complicated decisions have become a way of explaining complex issues, such as climate change or immigration. But are online games in fact the right medium to increase people’s engagement and interest in crucial political and societal issues? Can gaming assist people in breaking out of their filter bubbles? Yes, says Jonathan Geffen, our PhD candidate, in an interview with the Swedish Global Bar Magazine.
