Welcome to our latest Chamber newsletter

We’ve been busy at the Chamber - we've held three successful events within a week!

Last Wednesday we had a BA5 Event at McDonalds (Te Awamutu) and had a fantastic turn out. Angela and Tony Rowland (owners) were amazing hosts and they openly talked to us about the challenges their business faced during the pandemic. Their ability to adapt and overcome the forever changing levels was inspiring to say the least!

Fast-forward to Friday 23 September and we hosted our first Digital Boost training for 14 of our local businesses. This government-backed training is designed to provide small businesses with support in the digital space. We're delighted that the first (out of 6 sessions) were well received. Keep an eye out for the next round of training in 2023.

On Tuesday FINDEX hosted a Link Lunch at the Peach & Porker and we had a great turn out. The team from Xero presented some handy tips and tricks on how to run your business in Xero. Our attendees got a lot out of this working lunch session.

A special thanks to Angela and Tony Rowland (McDonalds) and Jarrod Godfrey (FINDEX) for hosting two successful events. We appreciate your continued support of the Chamber.

We’re always keen on seeking feedback from our local business partners on what the Chamber can provide. If you’ve got any ideas, we’d love to hear from you – email ceo@teawamutuchamber.org.nz.

Impact Hub Waikato

Impact Hub Waikato, in collaboration with Te Awamutu Business Chamber and Waipā District Council are currently exploring the possibility of establishing an entrepreneurial hub in Te Awamutu. The working vision for such a centre is “to create an inclusive space and nurturing community for collaboration, where you can walk in the door with nothing more than an idea, and gain the inspiration, tools and resources you need to create an impactful business”.

The Need
The time is right for the community of Waipā to explore the concept of an innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem that will inject energy into the local community, and support alternative pathways, growth and development opportunities for youth in and around Waipā.

Can You Help?
To ensure that this hub effectively serves the needs of the Waipā community, we're engaging with a variety of locals in the development of the Hub through co-design sessions and community consultation. As a valued member of the Waipā community, we'd appreciate your thoughts and opinions and would like to invite you to our co-design session.

Need to know more?

The session is held in Te Awamutu on Wednesday 19 October from 11.30am to 2pm (lunch included). For more information about the co-design session or to register email emma.sinclair@impacthub.net
