Dear friends of Gomde UK,

Two months ago we launched our One Million Mantra Campaign in support of the Thubten Chökor Ling Temple. We asked our supporters to make aspirations for the building of the temple and to recite the Buddha Shakyamuni mantra.

We’re absolutely delighted so many of you have taken part and at the time of writing, over 30 people have recited over 301,929 mantras. We are delighted and humbled by your kindness, support, diligence and dedication.

With 700,000 mantras to go until we reach our target all we need to do is to keep going! 

It is our aspiration to fulfil Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche’s vision to build an authentic temple here in South Yorkshire, where everyone is welcome; an international place of study, meditation, retreat and tranquillity. 

We have completed the foundations for the temple, prayer flags are interwoven in the metal reinforcement which await the creation of the walls. Members of the Gomde community complete a daily Kora walk around the site visualising the completed temple, making wishing prayers and reciting the Buddha Shakyamuni Mantra.
