In addition to managing the day-to-day operations & staffing, you will be working with the Trustees and Board on a strategy that ensures Gomde UK is achieving Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche’s vision for the centre. You will have a hands-on approach, working in harmony with a developing team of volunteers and staff. You will have experience of running a busy and varied operation, be financially astute, managing budgets and resources. You will be experienced at developing positive partnerships that benefit the centre and dharma network.
You will be able to maintain calm and composed under pressure, having the ability to adapt and manage through uncertainty. You will need a strong understanding and demonstrated ability to run a successful business while upholding Buddhist values and conduct. You must be able to work non-traditional hours to get the job done.
Your role will be to:
Provide strong leadership, strategic direction and support for the staff and volunteers; recruit staff and volunteer roles in accordance with the organisational strategy.
Provide guidance and direction to the area leads, making sure that day-to-day operations function harmoniously and in alignment with the goals of the strategic plan.
Manage the various operational budgets set by the Board of Trustees ensuring accuracy of accounting and reporting.
Grow the reach and impact of Gomde UK by maintaining and developing relationships with community, external partners and Sangha members.
Oversee the delivery of events, organising staff, volunteers and resources accordingly and communicating with participants.
Provide administrative support related to the day-to-day running of the centre.
Provide liaison between the staff volunteers and Board Advisory Group, keeping the board informed on the overall health (i.e. operations and culture) of the organization.
