Dear Roxbury Prep Families,

As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, we want to pause for a moment of gratitude. You’ve entrusted us with your beautiful and talented children and we strive to uphold and honor this responsibility every day. But we could not do our work without YOU. We are so thankful for your support and partnership as we navigate this unprecedented year of remote and hybrid learning. Your dedication inspires us because we know that as parents and caregivers you are juggling so much during these tough times. We’re so thankful for your continued investment in our school community and we wish you and your family a happy, restful, and healthy Thanksgiving holiday.

School Updates

Update on Hybrid Learning Launch:

We hope this message finds you and your loved ones safe and well during these challenging times. We are so grateful for your continued partnership as we navigate remote learning together.

We continue to work through the external health factors and shifting political winds to ensure we’re meeting guidance from local and state officials in our hybrid re-opening plans. Because of these factors, we are making a shift in our hybrid launch plan to first welcome back a smaller number of select students starting Monday, November 30th until Winter Break. We anticipate that the remaining hybrid students, and original hybrid schedule, will launch Wednesday, January 20th for students choosing in-person learning. Our schools will be fully remote for all students between Monday, January 4th through Tuesday, January 19th, as our community returns from possible holiday travels and complies with our state’s travel guidelines.

You will be hearing from your school leaders and teachers no later than Monday 11/23 as to which students are eligible to return on November 30th.

We are discouraged by the need to delay our full hybrid launch once again, as we know the option for in-person learning is what our scholars and families deserve, but the Boston Health Commissioner has said that only a small number of select students, who benefit most from in-person instruction, should be coming back to school. We appreciate the challenge this presents for families and we remain committed to providing in-person learning opportunities for all our students as soon as it is safe to do so.

We will continue to update you about our plans. In the meantime, we want to express our appreciation for our amazing Roxbury Prep families, as we know we couldn’t do any of this without you.

Please stay safe, and we simply can’t wait to see you and your scholars as soon as possible. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns.

Remote Learning Meal Distribution:

All Roxbury Prep families have the option of picking up breakfast and lunches at any Roxbury Prep school campus from 11am-1pm. Families can choose the day and site that works best for them and pick up meals for all Roxbury Prep students in their family at the same time. See below for the list of which campuses will be open each day. Each day, families will receive either two or three breakfasts and lunches for each student in their family enrolled at a Roxbury Prep school. To receive a full week of meals, plan to visit the same site twice per week. When you arrive at the pick-up, go to the front door or look for food service staff. If you have any questions, reach out to your school’s Director of Operations. Please note that school is closed Wed - Friday the week of Thanksgiving and meals won’t be available on those days.

High School Facility Video: Watch and Support!

A video about the fight to build a high school facility has been released! Please watch this powerful video, narrated by RPHS senior Tabreia Vann Crump, published on our social media platforms linked below. After watching, please consider sharing and promoting on your personal pages as well to spread support.

Along with the video, we are asking people to contact the mayor and members of the BPDA to voice our opposition to the unjust process they’ve upheld. You may have already filled this link out – we kindly ask that you fill it out again. The more they hear from us, the better!
If you have any questions, please contact your school leaders.
