We hope that everyone has a safe and restful Winter Break! As a reminder, we will be on Winter Break starting Monday, Dec 21, and we will return on Monday, Jan 4. We will also be fully remote from 1/4 to 1/19 to allow for everyone to quarantine safely after the holidays. Please note that the school building will remain fully closed at this time. We will launch our hybrid learning on Wednesday, January 20th. We look forward to seeing everyone after the break.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Action Plan: Update on our commitments
As we draw to the end of the calendar year, we want to share an update on our progress in the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion commitments we made at the start of the school year. You can read our update here.
MA Seasonal Flu Immunization Requirement:
All K-12 students in the state of Massachusetts this year are required to get the season flu vaccine by December 31, 2020. You can get this important vaccination at your local pharmacy, doctor’s office, or health clinic.
Please make a plan to bring your student to receive the seasonal flu vaccine before this deadline, and submit the proof of immunization to your school’s office manager. Students who have a medical or religious exemption may submit proof of this exemption to the school in place of the vaccination paperwork.
Students who have not gotten the seasonal flu shot will not be allowed to attend in-person school, even if you have opted into hybrid learning. Students who are registered for hybrid learning but are not up to date on all their immunizations will be required to stay in remote learning.
Find out more about the flu vaccine here!
Remote Learning Meal Distribution:
We are excited to continue offering remote meal service once we return from the winter break!
When our scholars start school again on January 4, 2021, you can continue going to your closest Roxbury Prep campus during the following times:
As a reminder, schools will be closed and not serving meals from 12/19 - 1/3. For families seeking food resources while schools are closed, you can visit this map of resources in Boston to find a food service location near you.
We also want Roxbury Prep families to know that the P-EBT benefit has been extended for the remainder of the 2020-21 school year. All students who attend Roxbury Prep are eligible to receive Pandemic-EBT funding to support families while their students are attending remote learning. You do not need to apply to receive this benefit. The balance will automatically be applied to your existing EBT card or an EBT card will be sent directly to you. Families should expect to receive the next set of funds sometime in late January. If you have questions about the P-EBT program or did not receive your funds, please review this website or reach out to Project Bread at (800) 645-8333 with questions.
Reminder: Parent/Guardian Survey Coming in January!
In early January, we will launch a brief survey for all parents and guardians. This is an opportunity for you to share your thoughts and feedback directly with us as we work to provide the highest quality schools for your child(ren). The survey will open on Monday, January 4th and close on Sunday, January 17th. You will receive a link to the survey via email once it opens. We look forward to hearing from you!
