LxAddictions17 — call for submission of abstracts and registration open
The second European conference on addictive behaviours and dependencies will take place in Lisbon from 24 to 26 October 2017.
Once again, the event will be jointly organised by the Portuguese General Directorate for Intervention on Addictive Behaviours and Dependencies (SICAD), the journal Addiction, the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) and the International Society of Addiction Journal Editors (ISAJE).

Registration for the conference is already open and early bird fees are available until 31 March 2017.

Proposals for paper presentations and posters as well as structured sessions (symposia, workshops or panel discussions) are invited with a closing date of 28 February 2017. Authors of accepted abstracts will have two weeks from notice of acceptance to register for the conference paying the early bird fee.

LxAddictions17 welcomes submissions of cutting-edge research that helps characterise, understand and respond to addiction and addictive behaviours.

Conference themes

The conference is organised around three general themes:
  • ‘Understanding addictions’,
  • ‘From evidence to action’ and
  • ‘Addiction horizons’.
Under these themes we welcome presentations from a broad range of disciplines on quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods research that help increase the understanding of the complex phenomenon of addiction and addictive behaviours.

#LxAddictions17: networking

Over 600 participants — researchers, practitioners and policy experts from 58 countries and a range of specialist areas — attended the First European conference on addictive behaviours and dependencies held in Lisbon in 2015.

LxAddictions17 will again provide a unique networking opportunity for researchers, practitioners and policy experts across countries and disciplines, addressing new challenges and covering developing fields. In the margins of the conference various major events will take place, such as the third international conference on wastewater analysis: ‘Testing the waters 2017’ as well as the ‘3rd International Symposium on Drugs and driving’.
