CMF's gala dinner Rhyme & Reason, held on 24th February at the Banking Hall, was a truly special event for all involved. The audience was blown away by performances from CMF Artists Tir Eolas, Kaleidoscope Saxophone Quartet, Cordelia Williams, the Foyle-Štšura Duo, as well as Pedro Segundo, Giacomo Smith and the Kansas Smitty's. And what's more, we raised £20,000 to support these outstanding young musicians in the crucial early stage of their careers.

Our thanks go to those who donated a fantastic range of auction items and raffle prizes. The highest bid of the evening was £3000 for a trip to Hamburg for a tour of the Steinway factory!

Have a look at some photos of the event here and read more about the event, the prizes and the programme here.
Particular thanks go to our gold sponsors:

Miriam Nerval in her own words...

Describe yourself in 3 words:
Emotional, curious and recorderlicious!
Who do you usually perform with?
As a soloist, it depends on the demands of the programme. I’m very fortunate to have worked with a number of amazing harpsichord, cello, theorbo and harp players who I love working with on different things. As a chamber musician I play with Palisander recorder quartet and Woodwork.

What has been a performance highlight in your career so far?
Woodwork spent 10 days playing at the Tel Aviv International Early Music Seminar in 2012 which was pretty special. We played concerts all over Israel at amazing historical venues.

Also the Milton Court Showcase we did with the City Music Foundation, it is an amazing space to play recorder in!
