The City Music Foundation supports musicians in the early stages of their careers and combines performance opportunities with mentoring and professional development skills such as marketing, public relations and financial management. By enhancing the career prospects of young musicians we aim to cultivate a mind-set of ‘excellence’ that will inspire, bring out talent and make a critical contribution at a ‘make-or-break’ moment in a musician’s life.
The City Music Foundation is determined to encourage excellence in music by investing in the next generation of exceptional musicians. I am delighted that this vision was enthusiastically embraced by the City and in 2013 the City Music Foundation was established with an initial investment from the Lord Mayor’s Appeal that year.
Come and see these young musicians for yourself! Upcoming City Music Foundation events include: Brahms at Lake Thun featuring cellist Mikhail Nemtsov and violinist Mari Poll in the historic Mercers’ Hall; City Beerfest  with folk group Tir Eolas (plus more than a dozen of Britain’s most popular breweries); and The Recorder of London featuring Miriam Nerval on recorder paired  with the story of the Recorder of London as told by HH Judge Brian Barker QC.
