Mountain Healthcare Ltd are the current healthcare providers for The Emerald Centre SARC (Sexual Assault Referral Centre) for Bedfordshire and Luton. The services provided by Mountain Healthcare Ltd are commissioned by NHS England and Bedfordshire Police.
The SARC centre is managed by Debbie Liverpool, who is supported by a team of specially trained Crisis Support Workers and Forensic Nurse Examiners. The local team is supported further by our Clinical and Medical Directors.

The Emerald Centre SARC offers a comprehensive service for adults and children, who have experienced sexual violence or sexual abuse. Our clients can access The Emerald Centre via the Police and other professionals, as well as via the self-referral pathway (booking an appointment at the SARC, without police involvement). At the SARC, individuals will receive support and guidance, medical assessments, forensic examinations (if required), medicines such as post-coital contraception, and the opportunity of aftercare referrals for support services.

We also have a team of dedicated ISVAs (Independent Sexual Violence Advisors), who work as advocates for our clients, and are available to support individuals following experiences of sexual violence or sexual abuse. The support offered by our ISVAs depends on each client’s needs, but can range from helping them to access support services, to assisting them through the criminal justice process.
