New Exhibit of Local Art at Art at the Ridge

On Friday, November 28,  Sugar Club will be hosting a preview evening of the Sugar Club Art Show, curated by Art At the Ridge Gallery. Local artists will be showing their latest works in an interesting and varied show. The gallery is right on site at the resort, so patrons interested in seeing more can visit and choose their favorite works.

The gallery has also launched its annual Children’s Christmas Card Art Competition, where they call for designs from local young artists. The deadline for entries was October 31, and cards with last year’s winning entries will be available for purchase at Art at the Ridge and other places around the island this month.

Kind Words from Our Guests

From a recent review of Sugar Ridge Resort on Trip Advisor

“Antigua’s Gem”

“We spent a wonderful 10 nights at this resort in September. The weather was good - very hot with occasional rain showers. Perfect time to visit as it is low season so not crowded. The staff were exceptional and nothing was too much to ask for. The complex is built on a hill so lots of steps and steep climbs but the hotel offer a buggy service which you call for and arrives immediately. The food was first class- best we have had on any holiday. Carmichaels on the hill was by far our favourite, the staff were just the best ever, attending to all requests happily. Special mention to Gregory the chef- he was just wonderful and would come and sit with us after service for a chat. The pools were awesome- clean and quiet. The hotel runs a shuttle service to the beaches so location is no problem, run by Von who also does an early morning nature walk which is both brilliant and informative, a must do in our opinion. He is just so knowledgeable .Vincent runs a taxi from the hotel and will take you anywhere you wish.

“The rooms are clean and have all the usual facilities, although the table top ironing board was a new experience for me! We had one with a plunge pool - a perfect addition to the large veranda.

We stayed on an all inclusive basis and apart from some supplements for lobster dishes, you really don't have anything extra to pay. Reception will book you any trips you wish, arranging the transport to get you there. A must do is Shirley heights on Sundays- a real carnival atmosphere, with steel band, BBQ, rum punch and a reggae band who were fantastic. All in all we would recommend Sugar Ridge to anyone looking for a quiet getaway to relax but has the added bonus of helping you see their beautiful island.”
