In this edition of our hapū e-pānui we feature the 2021 Special General Meeting where we revisit the LVR Lift.

Kia manawanui mai, i runga anō i ngā āhuatanga o te wā - the Bus Tour of our Assets has been postponed to Sunday 13 June.

We have 19 new mahi opportunities with applications closing this Sunday 23 May.  Me te maha noa atu.

  • 2021 Special General Meeting

Our 2021 Special General Meeting is Sunday 20 June at Ōrākei Marae. The LVR Lift is the single resolution for consideration by our whānau. 

The LVR Lift will provide Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei with an important safety net against future economic shocks, like Covid-19.

On-Going Kaupapa
Kura Pō - Every Tuesday at Whai Māia, 6pm-7:30pm.
Te Tū Purunga Kapa Haka - Every Wednesday at Ōrākei Marae, 6pm - 7pm. Heoi, the first Wednesday of every month is self directed learning.
Te Kapa Haka o Ngāti Whātua - Whakaharatau this Sunday May 23 at Kaipara College, 1-4pm. Click here for upcoming dates. 

 
Litter Audit - Ōkahu Bay
Recently Whai Māia carried out a litter audit of Ōkahu bay. In just over an hour we found 553 items, almost 1kg of litter. There were over 300 bits of plastic and almost 140 pieces of glass. To get a clear picture of the litter in our rohe we will be carrying out this audit every 3 months. If you would like to help get in touch with the team - tokitaiao@ngatiwhatuaorakei.com

Nō hea Koe? Where are you from? Nō Kaeo tōku māmā (Ngāti Rangimatamomoe, Te Aetō). Nō Te Wairoa Hōpūpū Hōnengenenge Mātangi Rau tōku pāpā (Ngāti Kahungunu ki Te Wairoa, Tūhoe).

He aha āu mahi ki Whai Māia? What do you do? I am the Collections and Archives Manager and my mahi is to create a puna maumahara, or repository, for all Ngāti Whatua Ōrākei whānau. 
Ki a koe, he aha te painga o āu mahi? What do you enjoy about your mahi? I enjoy connecting people with taonga, and taonga with people.
