IRC News

  • A happy LGBT+ History Month to our colleagues and the wider world! Check out the events section for a plethora of activities to mark this special time. The listings are Bristol based, but many are online, so anyone can join.
  • Although over 25 anti-viral HIV drugs are now available, the stigma associated with HIV and AIDS still exists. On 22 February, the IRC hosts speakers from the Positive Voices project for a lunchtime session to share their own experiences of living with HIV and dispel enduring misinformation (sign up below).
  • We eluded to it last year, but can now confirm that we're developing two - yes, TWO - Inclusive Research Practice training programmes for UoB! We have set up a Steering Group to consult on content, and the modules will be delivered by July 2022. Topics covered include contextualising academic research, reflexivity, study design and collection, results analysis and dissemination, and the wider impact of your research. Stay tuned for further info.

  • We stand in solidarity with staff after the announcement of further USS and Four Fights strike action in February/March.
