production week:
numbers + update

from me:
update. last week i did 'production' things and wasn't returning emails. this email is an update on what was happening behind the scenes.

thursday included finishing up the next case study and sending it out for proofing, and emailing a test copy to the print shop to be printed so i can check for folding layout and page breaks. I recorded some new OMMs, did a live radio show, had a 2 hr dentist appointment (which was less terrible than the one the week before, but i still can't chew on that side 5 days later), and did some audio editing to turn the live broadcast recordings into a podcast.

friday included writing (and posting) a new article both on Medium and on the blog. some people love the article, some hate it. then friday continued with coaching calls, a live radio show, and i worked on the archived podcast webpage and added a BUNCH of new audios (scroll down to the bottom to see all the ones marked with yellow 'NEW'), AND I started to redesign the sober jewelry webpage including taking new pictures for the jewelry (like the blue glass plate one on thursday, and my dove deodorant photo on saturday).

that's it. it really was a surprisingly productive week.

the feedback i've received has ranged, as you can imagine, from "that's nice for you, but i miss you" to "i've never been able to attend the live audios before, can you keep doing them daily?" to "I will miss you but can cope with 10 days - I will be up to 56 by then - woo hoo !!" to "This sounds ace belle. New is good. Brimming with ideas is excellent! This sounds ace belle. New is good. Brimming with ideas is excellent!"

it's hard to find the highlight of the week :) it was very nice to be back to daily writing again, that's something i miss (well, i don't miss writing, but i miss finishing things and being able to post them!), and it was super nice to get 6-7 hrs to work on the case study (that's time that's hard to find otherwise).

Probably the biggest thing was the live radio shows each day. I thought i'd run out of things to talk about for 5 x 30 minute daily shows, but it was fine (!). I shifted each day's show to be at different time, to accommodate all of time zones in the world. Unique listeners per day were: Monday: 40, Tuesday: 50, Wednesday: 82, Thursday: 47 (this is my fault, i didn't send out the reminder on thursday), and Friday: 118.  In fact, for the first 4 broadcasts, there were 202 unique visitors overall (some overlap, but lots of new people each time). So the idea of having a moving schedule seems like a good one.

feedback on live shows: "I loved the live audio I've listened to every one so far. I set my alarm to listen to you. I'm in Queensland" so some calls are in the middle of the night, "OMG! I love your live chats! Thank you so much for doing them! Even though I was only able to join in two of them, they were both really helpful. Not only is your voice in my ears, having you talk live adds another layer of greatness."

what now? things will go back to normal tomorrow, in that i'll be answering emails again, but it might take me a day or two to catch up. i'll be sharing all of the live content recorded (full-length sent directly to podcast subscribers, with extracts posted online for everyone to hear). and maybe i'll do another production week in a month or so. we'll see.

If you have some feedback for me on what Production Week was like for you, from your end, please share. All responses are appropriate, including:
(1) i hated your production week, i felt stranded without the personal emails
(2) it's not my favourite, i missed you, but it was fine
(3) i like the idea of the live stuff but i wasn't able to join any of it
(4) i loved the live audios and i listened to a few and liked the longer writings, too
(5) if you never emailed me again, it'd be fine, so long as you kept making stuff.

hit reply to this and let me know which one you are.

hugs hugs from
