The Nashville Fringe Festival exists to celebrate the diversity of Nashville artists, and to honor the legends among us who enrich our city and inspire our lives.

Ten years ago this month, across stages at the Basement, Simon Ripley’s Music & Art, and W.O. Smith Music School, we showcased a diverse range of artists in celebration of this mission. We invite you to revisit that first year by watching the above video which captures those first events. A listing of past Fringe-supported events can be viewed here.

A Call to Action

Today Bandcamp is waving fees, and we encourage you to take a moment to lend your support to artists in your community and beyond. Bandcamp has also compiled a list of artists and labels that are runnings special campaigns today. We encourage you to celebrate the voices who have touched your life.

A Call for Submissions
Looking ahead, we hope to better hold space for the diverse range of the city's artists. As Fringe Radio Show co-host E.T. adds each time he opens the program, the Fringe exists to celebrate music, dance, crafts, spoken word, film, and performing art of all varieties, and today we would like to open the Nashville Fringe Festival's website up to the city's performers and creators.

If you have upcoming artistic events, releases, projects, or performances - we want to hear from you.

Think of this as the pegboard at your neighborhood coffee shop, or the front window at the local record store. Please click the below link (or reply to this email) to send us information on your work and we will add it to the newly added Community Bulletin Board on our website.

And as a final note, we'd like to reflect on a performance by the great Billy Cox, performing Hendrix's "Freedom" at Cafe Coco's back room, recorded at the 2011 Nashville Fringe Festival.
"Freedom! That's what I want now.
Freedom! That's what I need now.
Freedom! To live.
Freedom! So I can give."
