A real estate broker says a top Tarrant Appraisal District executive filed four complaints against him for helping property owners appeal their appraisals for free. The district says it was not aware of these complaints and is opening an investigation. Reporter Sandra Sadek breaks down the back-and-forth.

Also, the Academy of Visual and Performing Arts could open in Southeast Fort Worth as soon as the 2023 school year. Education reporter Kristen Barton details how the State Board of Education approved the campus.

And, it can be decades before a playwright can hear their work read aloud by professional actors. For high school students competing in Circle Theatre’s competition, that opportunity will come June 26. Arts and culture editor Marcheta Fornoff has the story.

Additionally, around 5,000 people are currently waitlisted for housing assistance in Fort Worth and slightly above the same amount at the county level. Reporter Sandra Sadek talks to the agencies to gain a clearer picture of the obstacles.

Plus, Trinity Pride is back in person after a two-year pandemic pause. Founder and President of Trinity Pride of Greater Fort Worth, Tyler Long talks with arts and culture editor Marcheta Fornoff about what attendees can expect this year.
