Looking forward to this summer

This summer looks set to be a very exciting one for Kids Club Kampala! Our UK Director Olivia arrives in Uganda tomorrow, and our first team of International Volunteers arrive in mid July, followed by a team in August and another in September. All of our International Volunteers have been very busy fundraising and preparing to come out to Uganda. We cannot wait for them to arrive!

This past month has also been a very exciting month for KCK UK. We are now an officially registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). Last week we also took part in UK Small Charity Week, where we had a stall at the Celebration Day and we even went to a meeting at Parliament! We also have some fantastic Interns starting work with us in the UK this summer.

If you are interested in coming out to Uganda to volunteer with us, bringing a team out, or interested in our volunteer and internship opportunities in the UK, then please contact us info@kidsclubkampala.org

New Child Sponsors

This last month, we have seen 2 new children have their lives changed and be able to go to school thanks to our new child sponsors.

Without a Sponsor, these children would not have the opportunity to attend school, receive a good education and grow up having hope for a bright future. Education is a vital tool to overcoming poverty and makes a real difference in a child's life. We are very happy to say that we now have 25 children being sponsored to go to school through our School Sponsorship programme, and we would like to say a huge thank you to all of our Child Sponsors who are making a difference in these children's lives.

However, there are still many children that we work with who do not have the opportunity to go to school. If you would like to help make a difference in a child's life through giving them the gift of an education, then we would love to hear from you. Find out more information here or contact us and we can send you a sponsor form.

Music and Dance

Our children are extremely talented and love to perform singing, music and dance, and we are passionate about encouraging children in their talents and giftings.

Every month, we hold a music and dance gala at our offices in Kampala, where the children perform many songs and dances for guests, and last Saturday our children performed at GAME supermarket, Lugogo Mall, Kampala in front of huge crowds!

Our Music and Dance projects are not only a great way for the children to develop skills, be encouraged in their talents and to express themselves creatively, but also provide a safe environment where they can keep out of trouble and enjoy themselves. Children also use their talents to talk about and advocate for their rights and to raise awareness about important issues that they face as they perform.

In the future, we hope to raise vital funds to support these children through these events. Please contact us if you would like to support this project, or if you would like our children to come and perform at a function you are having!

Thank you to:

Everyone who has donated, supported and promoted the Ewafe Project over this last month. We are blown away with the amount of support we have received for this project, and we are happy to announce that we have reached our target and have earned a permanent spot on GlobalGiving! This money is going to make a huge difference to abandoned children in Kampala, thank you all so much!

  • All of our donors, volunteers and community members who worked so hard raising the money and fixing the field in Katanga. The field is now back in use and all the children are so happy that they once again have a safe place to play!
  • Our new Child Sponsors who are changing children’s lives by giving them the gift of an education.
  • All of our anonymous donors, we wish we could thank you in person but you know who you are!
  • Everyone who held a craft sale for us, and everyone who bought KCK craft items.
  • Everyone who is taking part in the Sponsored Swimathon at the end of July.
  • Our International volunteer teams who are getting ready to come out to help in Uganda this summer!

How to help:

Give: Finances are our biggest obstacle to achieving all we can and even a small amount goes a long way.

Fundraise: We are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help with fundraising.

Sponsor a Child: Just £25 a month can change a child's life for ever.

Volunteer: We have lots of opportunities to volunteer with us both in the UK and in Uganda.
